I am slowly getting back into my creating ways after the holidays and being so sick, and this baby bodysuit is one of the very first things I did post-craziness. The pattern is in the Lullaby Line from Peek-a-Boo Patterns, and was just released!
I was a pattern tester, and was asked to sew up the bodysuit (affiliate link) in long sleeves, which is perfect in our cooler weather. My little girl LOVED it, and actually wore it for 2 1/2 days before I finally convinced her to let me take it off and wash it. There were tears involved.
It has been a while since she’s worn a bodysuit, complete with snaps on the bottom and all that, but I think she thought it was really fun that her shirt covered her diaper. She kept showing me the snaps, bending over and pointing to her bum and all that. We haven’t giggled so much in a long time around here.
The fit was pretty darn good to begin with, but there were some great changes made after the testing round that make this little outfit even better. I plan on making a few of the lap tee’s for her this week, it is exactly what she needs and they are really fast to sew up. I just used a little snap kit I got at Jo-Anns a while ago, the one with the little metal anvil type accessory that you line up to the snap and bang with a hammer. I have another kit where the “setter” is a plastic blue piece of junk and I’ve never successfully inserted a snap with it. Just fair warning! Also, my child doesn’t stay still. Expect blurry pictures of her from here on out. 😉
The whole lullaby line includes the bodysuit and lap tee, overalls, pants and shorts, sleep sack, gown, and hat/mitts for the really newborns. This is the perfect line for all baby and baby gifting needs! Right now you can get the whole pattern bundle for $35, a $10 savings from buying each individually. Or get them one at a time as your baby grows! Anyway, they are cute and easy!Back to Blog
