Alex and Anna Summer PJ’s Pattern Review and Last Call for the Pattern Sale!

Peek-a-boo pattern review

One of the patterns included in the e-Pattern sale is the Alex & Anna Summer Pajamas by Peek-a-Boo Patterns.  I made my baby some jammies with it, and let me tell you… it is such a great pattern!  It was also a very fast project, which I love.  I chose to use the sleeve option instead of the tank top option, since it is still a little chilly here.

Cute Football Pajamas

I really liked how the shirt came together.  The neckline often gets stretched out using knits, but the way she instructed how to assemble it helped me not stretch it so much and get it all skewompus.  Plus, I am a huge fan of the contrast banding on everything!

Pajama Shorts

The fit is perfect; my baby has stepped up her game and I am moving her up to 18 month clothes, so I made the 18 month size (the pattern is for size 6mo-8).  Children’s pajamas are supposed to fit close to the body, as per children’s clothing guidelines, so I was happy to see the pattern accounted for that.

Summer Football Pajamas

Never you mind that I made my baby girl some football pajamas (the only knit I had on hand)- these are perfect!  I will for sure be making this pattern again.  Maybe in girly fabric next time?  Really, I can see this pattern being used to make a simple knit play outfit too, not just for pajamas!  She suggests using the next size up for play clothes, but since it is knit I don’t think it would make that much of a difference.  My baby still had plenty of mobility in her regular size.

Overall, I can highly suggest this pattern (part of the bundle you can buy here).  It has step-by-step photo instructions, very few pages to print and tape together (yay!), accurate sizing, and SO many size options it can be used for years.  It does require a few special items, like a ballpoint/knit sewing machine needle or twin needle, and a knit stitch on the sewing machine (looks like a lightning bolt).  I used my serger to speed things up, but it is not necessary for the project.

If you want to try the pattern too, it is part of the bundle of 18 patterns for $24.95, which is less than $1.50 a pattern!!!  Today is the LAST DAY to buy it- the sale ends at midnight EST!

My next project will likely be the Miss Mod top, except I’ll use a chiffon or a lightweight jersey knit for it.  The drape would be heavenly!  My girls have both requested a Sidekick Suitcase too.  Better get busy sewing!
